For computing bucholz the games unplayed will be considered as draw.
PLAYING CONDITIONS :
This tournament will be played in 9 rounds according to the Swiss System.
All FIDE rules will be applicable in this tournament.
Valid for GM and IM norms.
TIME CONTROL :
90 minutes for the whole game with an increment of 30 seconds per move from move 1.
BYES :
Players may request up to 3 half-point (½) byes.
They must be required no less than 24 hours before a round, and before the end of the 4th round.
Theses will be available only in rounds 1 through 6.
ATTENDANCE :
Limited to 160 participants
FUND PRIZES :
The total prize fund of the tournament is € 12.000

Only one prize can be awarded to a player (the highest possible one).
If players share the same place, the prize money will be shared according to the Hort System.
Prizewinners will have to establish proof of their identity through IDCards or Passports, and inform about their actual residing place.
There is a special prize of € 200 for the best young player from Madrid, rookie of the year.
This year, for the first time, there will be a special prize for the first 3-time winner:
each year it will be added an amount of € 500 to a deposit.
The first player to be ranked first 3 times, not necessarily in a row, will get the whole prize.

GM, IM and players above Elo 2350: free
All players ranked 1-15th in the Chess Opens of Galapagar, Villalba, Parla & Moratalaz, will get a free entry to this tournament.

Per Telephone or e-mail, till one day prior to the opening day, 6th of October, at 10 PM latest.

Payment can also be done in cash on site at latest one hour previous to the 1st round, and only if registration previously confirmed per telephone or email.

ADDITIONAL TOURNAMENT NORMS:
Ages, Elo rankings, Fide titles will all be checked prior to the beginning of this Open.
Unappearance on first round (if not previously announced) will lead to an automatic exclusion.
Two unappearences during the tournament will lead to an automatic exclusion.
The Organizing Committee may not to take into account corrections to birthdates, Elo ranking or Fide titles, once the tournament has begun.
Competition Committee will be elected during the 1st round.
The Organizing Committee will have the right to take all convenient measures to guarantee the proper tournament development.
For all other related subjects, Fide norms and recommendations will be applied.
Participation in this tournament means the acceptance of all these rules.
